SSS Payment Deadlines for Self-Employed, Voluntary, OFW Members

SSS Payment Deadlines for Voluntary, Self-Employed and OFW Members

Your deadline for paying your SSS contributions and loan payments depends on the last digit of your SSS no.

If the last digit           Your deadline is the ____ of
        of                        the month following the
your SSS no. is:        Month or Quarter You're
                                   Paying for

1 or 2  --   the 10th day after the applicable month
                           or quarter
3 or 4  --   the 15th day after the applicable month
                          or quarter
5 or 6  --   the 20th day after the applicable month
                          or quarter
7 or 8  --   the 25th day after the applicable month
                          or quarter
9 or 0  --   the last day after the applicable month
                          or quarter

Example:
Your SSS no. is 0887458128
Your last digit is 8
Your deadline is the 25th day of the month following the month or the quarter you're paying for
If you're paying for February, your deadline is March 25.
If you're paying for August, your deadline is September 25.
If you're paying for the 2nd quarter (April May June), your deadline is July 25.
If you're paying for the last quarter (October November December), your deadline is January 25.

Note: Many collectors or payment centers, like Bayad Centers, do not have time calculating payment deadlines for different people with different SSS nos., so they accept only payments for the current month or current quarter.

Payment Deadlines for OFWs

OFWs are special. They can pay for any month or any quarter of the year at any time of the current year.  SSS has considered their situation -- that they are in places where payment centers are not very accessible.

For example, it's already the month of August -- they can still pay for the previous months of January to July.  Or it's already Christmas -- they can still pay for the previous months of January to November.
During the month of January, OFWs can also still pay for the last quarter (November, October, December) of the previous year.

If you're an OFW on vacation and you're paying for past quarters, bring proof that you are OFW. If your family is paying for you, and they're paying for past quarters, they should bring proof that you are OFW.

  2. QUESTION from Analiza Santiago March 10, 2015
Hi I registered with SSS last sept. 2014 and want to pay contribution now. In what month can I start? Is January 2015 okay? Thanks.
    ANSWER:
Hi Analiza, if you pay 1 quarter (Jan to Mar 2015), you can still pay for Jan 2015. But if you pay 1 month only, start paying for this month, March 2015.

  4. Hi Irish Baulite, your check will be sent to your address via registered mail. If you like, you can go to your local post office (registered mail section) and ask if your registered mail from SSS is already there with them.

  5. Hi. I am self-employed and currently overseas and my contribution is paid until April 2015. I will probably miss paying my May and June contributions and resume payment for July. Can I pay May and June contributions when I pay July? If not, is there negative impact on my benefits if I miss two months of contribution? Thanks - Noel.

  6. Hi Noel, 2 missed months don't cause much negative impact, assuming you're still far from retirement. But you can still pay for June in July, depending on the last digit of your SSS no. See the payment deadlines above.

  15. Rosie Labrilla, about change in contributions 4/15/16
I just started paying SSS. My last payment was August then Sept to April. I have not re-started paying. I'm self-employed, paying 1100 per month. Can I change my payment monthly? What should I do? Thanks po
    ANSWER:
Hi Rosie, did you register as self-employed using the RS1 form, and the SSS officer wrote 1,100 pesos as your monthly payment? And now, do you want to increase it? If you're younger than 55, you can increase monthly or to any amount, for example from 1,100 to 1,760. If you want to decrease, then pay as voluntary (just write voluntary in the form), which means you have stopped your self-employment, so now your income has changed/decreased, so now you're decreasing your monthly payment. See this SSS circular about change in monthly contributions.

    Nagsimula syang nagbayad January 2015.
    Last payment niya noong june2015.

At Jan 2016 - october2016.?

    1. Hi Laica: Hindi na puedeng bayaran ang past years. You can still pay for the July to Sep quarter (payment deadline is to Oct 10, extended depending on the last digit of your mother's SSS no.). Pay at SSS branch. Then pay for Oct any day this month.
Sabi mo nagpa-self-employed. Meron siyang RS-1 form or Personal Record form na na-approve yong registration niya as self-employed? I asked to be sure that she registered correctly, that she has a Date of Coverage.

You can see your contributions and loan payments through your SSS online account. To have this account, register on the SSS website. You will need your former employer's SSS no., so call your HR and ask. When you enroll, check mo yong Employed. Resigned ka na, pero this is just for the purpose of enrolling in online SSS. This is how to Enroll in SSS online service.

    2. Hi Danilo: You can also verify your contributions and loan payments at any SSS branch.
